When it comes to finding jobs, there are two different kinds of people. There are people who determined, dedicated and hardworking to the point where they will do everything possible to get the best possible job opportunity and will not settle until they have achieved their demanding goals. Then, there are the individuals that simply want to get by without making a consistent or tough effort, are not dedicated or determined, and just want to get a job so that they can survive without having to live off of their parents. In the case of a veterinary assistant salary, there is much to be learned about the position itself without even looking at what responsibilities and duties they are required to do. That is because looking at the numbers in terms of vet assistant salary shows that the top twenty-five percent of workers make about twenty-seven thousand dollars per year while the bottom twenty-five percent make nineteen thousand dollars annually.

While this information may not appear significant right away, digging deeper will reveal some helpful inferences and truths that can be made out of a few numbers. Taking into consideration there is an eight thousand dollar difference between the two numbers, that essentially means a person could be doing the same work and putting in just as much effort to make almost seven hundred dollars less per month. Along with these veterinary assistant jobs, it is likely that the lower paid professionals are also given less benefits with possibly no vacation pay or 401k plan. When looking for jobs in this industry, make sure to look up the salary information because it can really show what some companies are likely going to do in both positive and negative ways because the hospitals that share the high potential after several raises are most likely those that have the happiest employees and the employers who try to get away with handing out cheap salaries will more than likely have unsatisfied employees.

Some people think that trying a job out is the only way to find out if it is worth the effort, however, utilizing veterinary assistant salary information should be enough to help make a final decision on whether or not it is worth spending the time and effort into the job. Settling for something that is mediocre and spending six months there could have been five months at another location that pays more, has better benefits and actually provides generous raises to the point that they make a huge difference in paychecks and income. Ultimately, while a person can definitely get by on their own without looking at salaries and make a living, those that are patient and willing to utilize this information will have a much easier, better and more successful time finding a great veterinary assistant career.

There are some professions out there that require two, four, six, even eight years of college experience and after two hundred thousand dollars in student loans initially, an individual will meet the requirements to apply for a job position that pays well and has great benefits. When dealing with becoming a veterinary assistant, the process to obtain the job more often than not consists of on-the-job training while the benefits are decent but nothing to get excited about. While having health insurance is by far the most important type of benefit to have for any and all workers because without being completely or at least somewhat healthy there is no purpose for having millions of dollars or living in a mansion because a person would be spending all of their time trying to get better or recovering from a procedure. Essentially, although having an excellent 401k plan would be great for the future, without health and living there is no way to take advantage of one in the future.

The veterinary assistant salary is also something that will not impress many, but, working with animals is a completely different story and probably much more satisfying then dealing with humans as they have a tendency to be angry or frustrated when they are injured and have to be in the hospital. Taking care of disgruntled individuals is never something to look forward to and when comparing it to the animals that come in whimpering or crying in pain, they look like demons. Who could honestly be angry at a poor Golden Retriever that is whimpering, bleeding and crying because he got a shard of glass in his foot? It’s impossible.

For those professionals that are working full-time and obtaining the highest vet assistant salary as possible, the benefits can actually be pretty decent. While there are some companies that will try to take advantage of their employers as much as possible by either only giving them part-time work or giving them minimal benefits, there are some great companies out there that want the best for their employees because that generally leads to a better environment to work in, higher quality work and a better veterinary hospital overall. Getting health insurance, vacation pay and a 401k would be the ideal situation for vet assistant jobs. Although most individuals simply take advantage of on-the-job training to get their experience and knowledge before doing any actual work, those that want to give themselves the best opportunity for an excellent job and career should invest into veterinary assistant schools because they provide an array of knowledge to learn and automatically show employers that the person is dedicated to their potential position. All in all, while the benefits and potential veterinary assistant salary is almost never going to be something that is extremely impressive, every single person should do their absolute best in trying to obtain the finest jobs out there instead of settling for mediocrity.

When working with animals, just about every position including cops that are specifically hired for protecting animals and pets are not going to be making very much money. For a professional to actually be content with their income, which is automatically going to be fairly low, they will definitely need and already have a love for animals as well as making a difference in their lives. Looking at the average veterinary assistant salary for these jobs is actually quite depressing considering that they are not even allowed to help with the surgeries or examinations but do everything else and are paid so little. Compared to receptionists and similar positions in hospitals and facilities that are similar, there is simply no competition. In terms of numbers, the average hourly rate for vet assistant jobs is a little over nine dollars an hour with the potential to reach almost twelve dollars and a quarter per hour.

That would make the total pay right around nineteen thousand dollars for the lower twenty-five percentile and about twenty seven thousand five hundred dollars in the case of the top seventy-five percentile. There is one great benefit about working in this field that has nothing to do with the money and that is the love and desire to see animals happy. When they are injured, all they want is to be cured so they can run around excited and go back to having normal lives whether it is an injured skunk or extremely loved dog that broke his leg. While it would be amazing to see every single animal that comes through the veterinary hospital doors walk out completely healthy, that is not always the case. Sometimes animals go into surgery and never pull out or there are the situations when they come in very ill or injured and simply will not get through their pain no matter what is done.

When looking further into the average vet assistant jobs, it can be found that within the top ten and bottom ten percentile the numbers are sitting at fifteen thousand dollars and thirty one thousand dollars. Although the lower amount can be quite unsettling to look at, as long as an individual stays persistent and does not settle for a low-paying job they can definitely work their way towards getting one of the higher quality, better paying veterinary assistant jobs. All in all, while looking at the average salary altogether will not do anything to benefit someone directly, taking that information and turning it into motivation or an extra drop of dedication can make a huge difference in actually trying and wanting a better job.
